Seven Reasons You Don't Need Baptism
by Tina Collins

You don't need baptism. Here's why:

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Baptism remits (washes away) your sins. If you can get to heaven in your sins then you don't need baptism.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Baptism puts you into Christ. If you can get to heaven outside of Christ then you don't need baptism.

1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. If you can get to heaven without a good conscience (1 Timothy 3:9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience), then you don't need baptism.

1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Baptism saves you. If you can get to heaven without being saved then you don't need baptism.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Baptism is a burial, after having died to your sins, and then a resurrection to new life--following Christ in the example of His death. If you can get to heaven without following Christ into death and resurrection then you don't need baptism.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Baptism puts you into the body of Christ (the body is the church--Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all; Ephesians 5:23 ... even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body). If you can get to heaven outside the body then you don't need baptism.

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Baptism is where you contact the blood of Christ, shed in His death. If you can get to heaven without the blood of Christ then you don't need baptism.

The blood is in the body,
And the life is in the blood.
And nothing you can do outside
Can ever be enough.
Your faith might bring you near,
And good works may take you far;
But the blood is in the body,
And the life is in the blood.
