Conundrums MDR Teachers Cannot Explain

While on earth, Jesus was God's prophet and was obligated to teach and obey the Law, which he did perfectly. Traditional MDR teachers must therefore accept the implication of their position: that Jesus contradicted Moses' law and sinned, which would disqualify him from being our Savior.

Because God disapproved of the way Jewish men were treating their wives - sending them away and marrying others - he had Moses establish a law that, when followed, allowed the woman to "go and be another man's wife." Traditional teachers claim that the Greek word APOLUO, meaning "to send away" and resulting only in separation, actually means divorce, and that if either party remarries after divorce, both commit adultery. But that view falls apart on closer examination. Even if a divorced woman were barred from remarrying, the man was not required to remain celibate and could even take more than one wife. Therefore, it cannot honestly be maintained that Jesus’ teaching - if it addressed divorce rather than separation - is sound doctrine.

Traditional MDR teaching is inconsistent, unfair, and unjust because it requires innocent people to remain celibate. God appears to view this seriously as well, since he places "forbidding to marry" among the "doctrines of devils" (1 Tim. 4:1-3). And He also has something to say about condemning the just (Prov. 17:15, 26).
